Pennsylvania Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Legislation

The Lyme Disease Society supports HB 272 and SB 210, important Lyme and tick-borne disease legislation for Pennsylvania.

HB 272 is sponsored by PA State Represenative Dick Hess and was recently reported out of the Human Services Committee.  HB 272 would implement important steps to fight Lyme and tick-borne disease in Pennsylvania and mandate insurance coverage based on the medical care needed for an individual Lyme and tick-borne disease patient.

SB 210 is sponsored by PA State Senator Stewart Greenleaf.  SB 210 would allow physicians to provide appropriate medical care for Lyme and tick-borne disease patients, mandate insurance coverage based on the medical care needed for an individual Lyme and tick-borne disease patient, and implement important steps to fight Lyme and tick-borne disease in Pennsylvania.  Posted below are links to the Cosponsor Memo for the bill and the hearing on last session's similar legislation.
